This is not a traditional white-box studio. Instead, the space has been carefully curated with a considered blend of textures, materials and collected objects that reflect my heritage and decades of travel. The result is an environment that feels lived-in rather than clinical, somewhere clients, talent and crew can settle in, exhale and feel genuinely at home while the work unfolds. Set on a 320m² corner block in Coburg North, the studio is fully equipped for both stills and motion. Designed to comfortably accommodate substantial grip and lighting setups to support both top tier productions and smaller, more intimate shoots, it's built to adapt to whatever the day requires. I've got all the gear you could possibly need for a shoot, but that is the expected part. What makes a day here special is everything around the work. There is space here to shoot, but also space to pause. Browse through my vinyl collection and lower the needle on an album as its story slowly unfolds through the room. Rack up a game of pool between setups, or sink into a Chesterfield and let the pace soften for a while. The atmosphere is intentionally calm; when the noise falls away and the pressure lifts, people settle into the work differently. Crew and clients find a natural rhythm together, ideas arrive more easily, images become more instinctive and, almost without noticing, more gems are created across the course of a day. There is always a steaming pot of loose-leaf tea on hand or in-house Axil coffee from a refurbished San Marino machine. And although I love photography, food is a huge part of my life too. Catering from next door at Back Alley Bakes is a priority, fresh from the oven and shared around a three and a half-metre Oregon dining table beneath a family heirloom Murano chandelier. Part creative studio, part personal gallery, the studio offers a glimpse into more than 30 years behind the lens; a distilled collection of images, memories and moments that continue to inform my practice today. I think you would love it here. Tovo.
